When the time came to install some of the main electronics parts into the box, I decided that they needed some minor modifications before they could be put in.

The large 900Kva UPS needed quite a bit of work before it could be bolted in. First I pulled it open and rewired the front display and power switch onto a longer flat ribbon cable so that it could be used from the front panel of the newspaper box. The second issue was that the UPS generates lots and lots of heat. To deal with the heat I cut a hole into the bottom of the UPS that aligned with a hole on the bottom of the newspaper box floor. This allowed me to have a 120mm fan pushing cold air directly into the UPS and be ducted out and away from the main computer components.

The next piece of electronics on the chopping block was the 430 W Antec True Power power supply. I cracked open the PS case (goodbye warranty) and detached all of the excess wires and connectors that I had no use for. I then added a piece of green UV reactive Plexiglas and a green UV LED 80mm fan. With the box portion done, something had to be done with the bare wires. I sleeved them all in UV green reactive cable braiding.

Next part to void the warranty, err mod, was the 15" Benq LCD monitor. I carefully removed the whole outer shell and mounted the front part of the shell onto a piece of diamond plate metal so the monitor would attach to it without the back of the casing.

I also took apart the Sony Playstation 5" LCD screen to be installed into the coin box of the mod.
